The VC5 is a mono / stereo optical compressor that, in addition to having the benefits of using a vactrol as a compression device, has the versatility of varying the response time of the compression signal, a function that is not usually found in this typology of analog compression. Its circuit does not use electrolytic capacitors in the audio path and although it is a new circuit, it was inspired by excellent units like the CL1B from tube-tech and the LA-4 from Urei, but it is not a clone of any existing compressor.
