The VC5 II is the second version of our beloved VC5. It's a stereo optical compressor that, in addition to having the benefits of using a vactrol as a compression device, has the versatility to vary the response time of the compressed signal, and vary the compression ratio, functions not usually found in this type of analog compression. Its circuitry is authentic without attempting to replicate any existing compressor, even so, it was inspired by excellent units such as the Tube-Tech CL1B and the Urei LA-4, but it is not a clone of any existing compressor.
